I’m one service away from telling Rogers to go suck eggs for good. Thus far, I have cancelled cable tv and cellular service. I have only to replace my internet connection with Yak and I’ll have completely eliminated those bastards once and for all.
Of course, my latest vitriolic exhortation comes as a result of the damned iPhone packages. I was going to be one of “those guys” who raced to the Apple Store after work praying that they had not sold out of this latest of must-have toys from my favourite tech pushers. But, never mind the fact that I wouldn’t be able to buy my iPhone directly from Apple, I no longer have any interest in owning one of the devices. I’m so livid with how greedy Rogers has chosen to be that they have completely ruined the experience for me. What should have been me happily handing over $200-$300 down, $100 a month for three years was replaced with my canceling my Rogers wireless account completely.
I still love Apple and look forward to the day when I can own an iPhone on something closer to my own terms. Until then, I’ll live vicariously through Leo Laporte’s 24 hours of iPhone coverage.
